Three important things to do every day

Check your feet daily

Look at the soles of your feet, between your toes and around your heels every day. Check for wounds, redness, blisters, swelling or changes in skin color.

Keep your feet clean and dry

Wash your feet gently with lukewarm water and dry them thoroughly, especially between the toes. Avoid exposing your feet to direct heat.

Wear appropriate footwear

Wear comfortable, closed shoes that are not too tight. Check inside your shoes before putting them on to make sure there is nothing that could injure your foot.

Important: If you notice a new wound, significant redness, swelling, discharge, a change in skin color or worsening of the condition of your foot, contact your healthcare team and do not wait for the wound to heal on its own.
